The city of Seinäjoki, known for many summer events, will once again bring the hugely popular Silent Disco to Provinssi as part of its diverse event collaboration. The City of Seinäjoki has selected its summer event partners from among economically significant and well-established events in the region, with Provinssi chosen as one of its key anchor events.
A Developing Partnership
This year, the city will conduct an event study across all ten partner events. The study will examine visitor profiles, customer spending, and satisfaction with both the events and Seinäjoki as an event city.
“Through this research, we gain valuable insight into how event visitors perceive Seinäjoki and what kind of impact events have on our region,” says Kirsi Kivisaari, Event Coordinator for the City of Seinäjoki.
“The impact of Provinssi has been studied before, and its regional economic effects alone have been estimated at around 10–15 million euros. This clearly shows how important events are to our region,” she continues.
Encouraging courage this summer

In Seinäjoki, courage is not about big words but genuine actions. Visitors can explore bold moves at the mobile Seinäjoki Silent Disco within the Provinssi area. The disco, introduced for the first time last year, proved to be a great success, says Anu Männikkö, Marketing Manager of the city.
“We want to bring Seinäjoki back into people’s minds amid the festival buzz, and the Seinäjoki Silent Disco is a great way to do that. It also reminds us that courage can be light and playful—it can be as simple as smiling at a stranger or trying new moves on the dance floor. I encourage everyone to experience this unique disco, where rotating DJs and music themes create a relaxed festival atmosphere. I also hope people will share their own moments from the disco and Seinäjoki on social media,” Männikkö says.
As every spring, Provinssi is recruiting nearly a thousand volunteers. A significant part of Seinäjoki’s population growth comes from immigration, and volunteer roles are also open to those who do not yet speak Finnish fluently. Both the festival and the city encourage people to apply for volunteer roles in Törnävä during Provinssi. An important part of the collaboration between the festival and the city is also the development of the event area, ensuring that celebrations can continue at Törnävänsaari for years to come.
Focus on Nicotine Pouches
Last autumn, the City of Seinäjoki ran a three-week cleanliness campaign encouraging people to consider the environmental impact of tobacco products. This year, the campaign will be carried out in collaboration with Provinssi. The campaign will be visible throughout the event week on local public transport screens and event displays.
“Cigarette butts and nicotine pouches thrown on the ground are a shared concern for all of us. We hope this campaign encourages at least some people to dispose of their waste properly,” says Event Coordinator Kirsi Kivisaari from City of Seinäjoki.
“Ecology and sustainability are core values of Provinssi, and we are constantly working to reduce the festival’s environmental impact. This campaign is a great addition in reminding people that every action matters,” adds Provinssi Festival Director Ville Koivisto.
Wristband Exchange at Keskustori
During the final week of June, the whole city of Seinäjoki comes alive for the biggest summer celebration of the people, as the wristband exchange point opens at the Keskustori as early as Tuesday. Last summer, the Instagram account @seinajoenkeskustassatapahtuu, managed by Into Seinäjoki, compiled offers available with Provinssi wristbands, and similar initiatives are being planned for the coming summer.
