EPPU NORMAALI’S FINAL SHOW IN SEINÄJOKI AT PROVINSSI
Eppu Normaali, who will perform in Seinäjoki for the last time at next summer’s Provinssi festival, adds to the program lineup announced so far. Tickets to the farewell concerts of the Finnish rock legend—returning to Törnävänsaari after a break of more than 10 years—sold out in an instant.
Eppu Normaali’s story goes hand in hand with the development of Finnish popular culture. Since their long shared journey with the festival began at Provinssirock in 1979, festivalgoers have, over the decades, been able to enjoy Eppu’s concerts with a uniquely conveyed sense of authenticity and togetherness—qualities that have made them one of the most beloved performers in the country. “Eppu Normaali played at the very first Provinssirock in 1979, wearing hippie coats. Since then, we’ve played there at just the right intervals, and of course also during our final gigging summer. We’re excited to see ourselves what kind of outfits we’ll end up performing in this time,” the band says as they look forward to their return to Törnävänsaari.
For 50 years, Eppu Normaali has been one of Finland’s most popular bands, shaping the history of Finnish rock with their uncompromising attitude, catchy melodies, and insightful lyrics, which have rooted themselves deeply in the hearts of listeners. Timeless hits from their multi-gold and platinum-selling albums—such as Tahroja paperilla, Murheellisten laulujen maa, Joka päivä ja joka ikinen yö, and countless others—still play on the radio and reach massive streaming numbers, continuing to speak to new generations. Throughout their 50-year career, the band has managed to maintain a fresh and human touch, where humor and melancholy move seamlessly side by side.
