Witch Club Satan
One of the most intriguing performers at next summer’s Provinssi festival is undoubtedly Norway’s Witch Club Satan. This fearlessly outspoken, feminist pagan metal trio bows to no one and nothing. Their attitude stems from the strong punk background of Johanna Holt Kleive, Nikoline Spjelkavik, and Victoria Røising, who met at theater school, and whose influence can be felt in their expression that challenges the conventions of black metal. The powerful spells dressed up as lyrics by the witch collective uncompromisingly support its musical message, which directs its furious power against patriarchy, capitalism, and war. Founded in 2022, Witch Club Satan’s sound is raw, theatrical, and captivating. The band, which emerged as a phenomenon with its untitled debut in 2024, combines the power of metal and ceremonial spectacle in its live shows in a way that makes each performance a ritualistic experience. The result is a comprehensive art experience where primal energy and rebellion go hand in hand.
Visiting Törnävä for the first time, Witch Club Satan shows how music can be both fierce and liberating. This is an event not to be missed.
