Arppa

Known for their energetic, spontaneous, and boldly improvised performances, Arppa and his band have risen to the forefront of the Finnish indie scene. Arppa’s warm-hearted and distinctive music transports listeners from one time and place to another, like the landscapes whizzing by outside a car window. Returning to Provinssi, Arppa is accompanied by virtuoso musicians Ville-Veikko Airaniemi, Eero Seppä, and Okko Saastamoinen, who have created a warm and cohesive sound around Arppa’s insightful lyrics, resonating with listeners wherever the band’s tour bus takes them. Arppa, who released their self-produced debut album Laavalamppuja in 2020, quickly rose to become one of Finland’s most followed and beloved artists. Their second album, Kinovalon alla, released the following year, charmed both audiences and critics, and the singles from it reached national radio airwaves. In the same year, Arppa received four Emma nominations (Newcomer of the Year, Rock of the Year, Critics’ Choice, Artist of the Year – public vote) and ranked third in Soundi’s list of the best albums of the year. The third album Valeria (2023) and the fourth Muovipussi kummittelee (2024) were released by Johanna Kustannus, continuing the impressive rise of this creative artist.

Arppa released his fifth album, Peppuni, in September 2025, once again self-published. The album, which channels playfulness and free expression in an authentic way, was largely created around verses rapped while driving and sounds genuinely like Arppa himself—warm and witty, funny and sensitive.
