ELLINOORA: Pop-sinfonia
Ellinoora, who performed at the sold-out Nokia Arena in November and has won four Emma awards, will be joined by the Sinfonia Lahti orchestra at Provinssi on Saturday, June 27, for her special concert ELLINOORA: POP SINFONIA. The Provinssi audience will have a rare opportunity to experience something unlike anything they have seen before, as the concert will feature more than a dozen unique symphonic arrangements of Ellinoora’s biggest hits from her more than 10-year career.
Conductor Ako Kiiski commented on the collaboration as follows: “Ellinoora’s music is perfect for performing with an orchestra. The songs are melodically and harmonically interesting, and they contain great emotions and drama. All the qualities needed for great orchestral arrangements are already present in the music. Combining the orchestra and pop music allows us to emphasize both the grandeur and power of the music as well as its sensitivity.
Ellinoora herself has a clear picture of what Pop Sinfonia entails. It is wonderful to be able to realize this vision in collaboration with Ellinoora and the magnificent Sinfonia Lahti. In addition to Ellinoora’s own band, the stage will feature a 22-piece orchestra conducted by Ako Kiiski. Sinfonia Lahti is an internationally successful top orchestra which, in addition to performing classical music, has recently performed with Apulanta, for example, and played movie soundtracks. This is going to be a really great show!
Ellinoora, one of Finland’s most prominent and popular artists, is eagerly awaiting the upcoming Provinssi summer: “This collaboration and project is a dream come true. I want to offer the audience a concept they will never forget. Pop Sinfonia is going to be incredible. Come and see for yourself!”
