Saimaa’s journey through music is free and boundaryless, built around a lineup of top-tier Finnish musicians. While the group draws inspiration from classic rock, prog, folk and schlager, the result is a highly accessible and infectious sound. Led by Matti Mikkola, Saimaa released two five-star albums, Vol. 6 and Vol. 7, in 2024 within just six months, and toured sold-out venues across Finland. Known as a spellbinding live band, both albums received exceptional praise from critics and audiences alike, also earning the Emma Award for Schlager of the Year.

One of Finland’s most acclaimed live acts, Saimaa will release a new album, Matka mielen ytimeen Vol. 2, on May 15. The album features reinterpretations of older songs, with singles released so far including “Hipit rautaa”, “Sotilaat, kansat, maat”, “Finlandia” and “Yks ja yks”.
