Turmion Kätilöt
Turmion Kätilöt, who are making their eagerly awaited return to Törnävä next summer, are undoubtedly the cornerstone of Finnish industrial metal. On Friday, June 26, the Provinssi audience can expect a relentless, raucous, and completely unique show that will leave no one cold. The band’s massive sound, provocative energy, and catchy choruses have made them one of the most powerful live performers in Finland over the years.
Operating since 2004, Turmion Kätilöt combines metal, electronic music, and theatrical showmanship in a way that no one else does. The Kuopio-based band’s latest studio album, Reset (2024), released by Nuclear Blast, was named Finnish Metal Album of the Year by Kaaoszine readers, among others, and also turned Soundi critic Aki Nuopponen into a fan of the band: “With its powerful machine beats, primitive lyrics, rock-solid riffs, and harshly alternating vocal rhythms, Reset is something you can try to listen to with your hands in your pockets like a rock cop, but it just doesn’t work. Turmion Kätilöt’s powers have grown so much that they penetrate even this flesh.”
