Charon

The cult name of Finnish gothic metal, Charon, returns to festival stages with its darkly melodic and unmistakable sound. Despite its long history, the band will be making its very first appearance at Provinssi.

One of the most significant Finnish bands of the early 2000s, Charon played a sold-out comeback club tour in autumn 2025. The wait for the band in Törnävänsaari has truly been long: founded in Raahe in 1992, the band’s breakthrough came already 25 years ago, and its best-known hits include Little Angel, Colder, and Trust of No One. The heavy and soulful shades of gothic metal last resonated when the band disbanded in 2011. Vocalist JP Leppäluoto stated that “Charon deserved the autumn tour” — and we’re hardly alone in saying this: the Provinssi crowd deserves Charon next summer.
