PROVINSSI KICKED OFF IN SUNNY WEATHER
The warm and vibrant atmosphere of the People’s Festival, now being held for the 46th time, was in full swing on sun-soaked Seinäjoki. “The first day of Provinssi this year was perfect – it’s amazing to see Törnävä packed with people again! Everything went smoothly, and after all the suspense, we even got the sunshine to go with it!” praised festival director Ville Koivisto.
Thursday’s musical highlights included heavy-hitting international stars Avenged Sevenfold and In Flames, who packed the main stage area to capacity, as well as Knocked Loose, whose explosive performance at the Woodland Stage had the crowd erupting into a massive mosh pit. Representing Finnish star power were the irresistibly charismatic Erika Vikman and Sexmane, alongside many other beloved local acts from Olavi Uusivirta to Paperi T. Festivalgoers enjoyed the beautiful Törnävä surroundings with all senses – from the Seinäjoki Silent Disco to full-volume singalongs in the Car-A-Oke vehicle and chill moments with furry friends at the buddy tent.
Friday and Saturday at Provinssi will feature even more international heavyweights, including rock band The Hives, genre-bending rap and electro acts 070 Shake and Tommy Cash, and metal powerhouses Electric Callboy and Lorna Shore. The impressive lineup also includes beloved Finnish headliners JVG, Haloo Helsinki!, and KAJ, along with dozens of other top acts spanning the entire musical spectrum.
