VOLUNTEERING TASKS IN PROVINSSI
💁 ACCREDITATION & CHECK IN
Accreditation volunteers will be at Provinssi’s Check-In points, where the main duty is to check the identity of the staff members, volunteers, media, or guests arriving at the festival and make sure they are given the right passes. This task appreciate carefulness, basic skills in computers, and a positive attitude in customer service. Accreditation tasks take place mainly during the festival and festival week.
🎨 ART & DECORATION
The art and decoration team primarily needs volunteers with handy skills, like painting, sewing, and people who are capable of woodworking. Please let us know on the application form if you happen to have any special skills related to these areas! No special skills are necessarily required if you have a positive attitude and a desire to learn new things. You must be 15 years old or over to be a part of the area art and decoration team. These tasks take place mostly before and after the festival.
🌶️ CATERING & HOSPITALITY
The catering volunteers will ensure that the artists, staff, and volunteers of Provinssi are fed and served well during the festival. Having previous experience in catering or hospitality is a bonus, but not a necessity. The most important thing is to make sure that people get food, things stay clean, and the service is friendly and everyone is happy. All catering tasks, except the ones at the crew restaurant (exclusively for staff and volunteers), require that you’re over 18. Catering tasks take place mainly during the festival.
ℹ️ FESTIVAL INFO
Volunteers in Festival Info have a great customer service attitude and a non-stop smile on their faces. The Festival Info is an important place for the customers of the festival, and the task includes knowing where the stages, water supply, and first aid, and other important places are. You must be 15 or over to work at the Info and the tasks take place during the festival.
💂 SECURITY & GUIDANCE
Being part of the security team means guiding, directing, and taking care of the overall safety of the festival and customers. Security guards will work in pairs so no one will have to face a difficult situation alone. The security guards will be signed to teams before the festival, but the teams might change during the festival.
Having a security guard license isn’t compulsory, since we’ll be applying for temporary licenses for the people without them from the authorities.
You must be 18 or over to be a part of the security team. Minors can volunteer in guiding the audience, as an event assistant.
🎫 TICKETS & WRISTBAND EXCHANGE
The volunteers of this team are the first people who meet Provinssi’s customers during the festival. The team will make sure that all the customers end up with the right ticket and wristband they need. Volunteers have a cheerful and positive attitude. Previous experience with cash registers and customer service is a bonus. You must be 15 or over to be a part of the ticket sales and wristband exchange team. Tasks take place during the festival.
🏕️ ACCOMMODATION
Volunteering in the accommodation team means being in charge of the customers’ and other volunteers’ well-being in either the school accommodation or Camp Provinssi. The most important tasks are welcoming the people in the accommodations, taking care of the cafeteria/kiosks in the schools, and looking after the overall tidiness. You must be 15 or over to be a part of the accommodation team and these tasks take place during the festival.
🛎️ OTHER SERVICES:
In other services, team tasks vary from taking care of the Camp kiosk, food & beverage services, to tasks related to Provinssi’s sideshow. Tasks are mainly customer service, so a kind, positive attitude, and cheerful mind are a must! These tasks take place during the festival.
👷 CONSTRUCTION
The volunteers of the building & construction team are helping in building and dismantling the festival area. Previous experience in construction tasks is a plus, but not a necessity. Anyway, good physical condition, any skills in hand crafting, as well as ability to handle different kind of tools and machinery is as an advantage when applying for this task. Provinssi provides all safety equipment for the volunteers. Tasks are mainly taking place before and after the festival.
🍺 RESTAURANTS (Age limit 18)
Restaurant volunteers will be at the festival area restaurants and bars making sure that they’re running smoothly. Tasks vary from moving and lifting stuff to washing dishes, customer service and a variety of other tasks. You won’t need any previous experience since the most important thing is a positive attitude but knowing the experience working in a kitchen or bar is a bonus! These tasks take place during the festival.
🌳 ENVIRONMENT & CLEANING
The cleaning and environment team is the one group where we will primarily accept those under 18 years of age as volunteers. The cleaning and recycling volunteers will make sure the festival area and campsites stay tidy. The tasks vary depending on which area the volunteers will work in. Some of the volunteers will be signed to the Green Team that’s in charge of distributing environmental and recycling advice around the whole festival. The task is easy with proper tools. You must be 15 or over to be a part of the cleaning and environmental team. These tasks take place during the festival.
🦸 SUPER TEAM (Age limit 18)
Volunteers of the Super Team are adaptable to different situations and they help other volunteer teams by switching between different tasks. These superbeings can at one moment be at the restaurant making sure customers are served and the next moment they are helping to clean the Mainland Stage area. Being a Super Team volunteer requires the ability to adapt quickly to a new environment, and a positive and fearless attitude. These tasks take place during the festival.
